Scooting Booking Tips 101

Looking for insider information? Here are some tips that should help your booking experience with us.

Absolutely important tips

  1. Do not attempt to browse for, or make more than one booking across multiple tabs or windows. This is an easy recipe for errors or booking failures. Always double-check your booking to ensure all details are correct!
  2. Avoid refreshing the page or using the ‘Back’ button on your browser when making a booking.
  3. As with all transactional websites, technical glitches do happen. In the rare event you do encounter a problem at any stage of your booking, please follow these steps:
    • If you do not see the booking confirmation after submitting payment, or if you saw an error message after submitting your payment details, please wait 15 minutes for your email confirmation to arrive in your inbox because your booking may still have been processed in the back-end. If you do receive an email confirmation, you can be sure your booking was made and finalized. If you do not receive an email confirmation, please contact your bank to see if anything was deducted from your credit card.
    • If neither of the above provided a resolution, or if you face an issue elsewhere, please send us the relevant information via our Online Feedback Form.
    • Need help urgently? Please contact our Call Centre.
  4. If all you need to do is make a change to your existing booking, you have the following options:
    • The easiest way would be to use the ‘Manage Your Booking’ feature on flyscoot.com. You’ll need your email address and booking reference to retrieve your booking.
    • Alternatively, you can contact our Call Centre, but do note that any booking changes made via the Call Centre will incur an additional Call Centre booking fee.

Other handy tips

  1. Plan trips with friends/family in advance.
    • Keep back-up travel dates. Our prices are so awesome, the best fares tend to sell fast. So make sure you have more than enough options so you don’t leave empty handed!
    • Have on the details of all the traveling guests, which include name, date of birth, email address and contact details.
    • Do your necessary research on visa and other country requirements.
  2. ALWAYS check your booking reference before making payment
    • Double, triple, quadruple check the details of your trip. You might even want to take a screenshot before submitting your payment to be extra certain!
    • Please take note that promotions tend to be offered for a certain fare class. They could be JUST for FlyBag/FlyBagEat fares or ScootPlus fares, for example. So even if the promotion is available, selecting a certain fare class that is not on promotion will mean that you will have to pay the full price.
  3. Familiarise yourself with our different fare bundles (Fly, FlyBag, FlyBagEat, ScootPlus) and discuss with your group
    • Click on the following links for more details about our fare bundles: Economy Class and ScootPlus.
    • Consider baggage requirements and the different food & beverage options or optional add-ons available. Study our FAQs to help answer various booking/flight related questions you might have. See a full list of our Fares and Fees.
  4. Tips for booking in large groups:
    • Customisation of fare bundles per passenger within the same booking is currently unavailable. This means, if you want to book 3 Fly, 2 FlyBag and 1 ScootPlus, you have to do it via 3 separate bookings.
    • If your preferred date does not show the lowest promo price, try reducing the number of passengers in the booking - e.g. if that particular flight only has 4 promo tickets left and you are booking 5 tickets, it will show you the next ticket price and not the lowest one. Lower the number of passengers till you see the lowest price, book it first, then proceed to make another booking for the rest. The small risk of course is not getting seats together.
  5. Other important reminders
    • During sales, HIGH TRAFFIC is unavoidable. That said, if you are unable to connect for hours on end, try using a different browser or clearing cache. Some customers have even reported easier connection via different ISPs. Unfortunately, we cannot control the level of connectivity to our servers.
    • Browsers: we love all browsers equally, but for the best viewing experience make sure you use either Internet Explorer 8+, Google Chrome 9.0+, Firefox 4.0+ or Safari 5.0+.
    • If there is a huge spike in traffic and you are directed to an error page, do not keep refreshing that error page as it will just keep showing that page. Go back to flyscoot.com and try again.
    • If you are travelling from Taiwan, China, do note that the 7-day refund grace period as required by Article 19 of the Consumer Protection Act does not apply to international air travel bookings.
